Hydration & Elasticity Stage

Flora Lane Radiance Routine

Your skin is asking for water it can hold. And the support that helps it bounce back.

If your skin looks deflated, fine lines look deeper than they should, and the same moisturiser you've used for years suddenly feels like it disappears within minutes — your skin isn't broken. It's losing its ability to hold water the way it used to. That's a hydration and elasticity issue. Both are reversible.

What's happening under the surface

Two shifts are happening simultaneously. First, your skin barrier is producing fewer lipids — the natural fats that lock water inside. Second, your skin's collagen and elastin support is slowing as estrogen declines. So water leaves faster, and the structural support that bounces back when you smile starts to lose its springiness.

The result is exactly what you're seeing. Skin that looks tired despite a routine you've been faithful to for years. Fine lines that look deeper because the skin around them is less plump. A morning glow that fades by lunch.

The fix isn't more product. It's the right kind of hydration delivered in a way your skin can actually use.

Three gentle changes to make this week

1. Apply serum and cream to slightly damp skin. This is the single highest-impact change for your stage. Hyaluronic acid — the hero hydration molecule — needs water to work. Apply it to bone-dry skin and it can pull moisture out of your skin instead of into it. Pat your face lightly after cleansing so it's still moist when you layer products.

2. Stop hot water on your face. Heat strips lipids further and dehydrates skin. Lukewarm or cool only. Test the water on the inside of your wrist — if it's comfortable, it's right. Same goes for the shower spray hitting your face.

3. Drink water steadily, not all at once. Your skin can only absorb what your bloodstream actually delivers. Sipping a glass every hour outperforms downing a litre at 4pm.

Your mini ritual

Five quiet minutes each evening. For your stage, the focus is layering on damp skin.

Step 1. Apply 1-2 pumps of Radiance Cleansing Oil to dry skin. Massage gently in circular motions for 60 seconds. Remove with a warm, damp cloth.

Step 2. Crucial for your stage: do not towel-dry. Pat your skin so it's just damp, then immediately press 1-2 pumps of Radiance Repair Serum into your face, neck, and décolletage. The water on your skin acts as the bridge — it's how the hydration ingredients actually get in and stay in.

Step 3. Within 60 seconds of the serum, finish with a pearl-sized amount of Barrier Restore Cream. The cream seals everything in.

Damp skin is the secret. You'll feel the difference in 48 hours.

Why the routine works as a system

I formulated The Radiance Routine as a system because each step needs the others to do its work properly.

I can't guarantee the serum will hydrate the way it should if your cleanser is stripping the barrier first. There's no point pouring water into a leaky vessel. The cleansing oil leaves your barrier intact so the serum can actually deliver hydration to skin that can hold it — and the cream then seals the whole thing in for the night.

Cleanse, repair, restore. In that order. Every day.

Your skin isn't failing you. It's asking for different support.
